Katherine King and Wayne Adams became famous all over the world thanks to their island home. They built it for 25 years, and now they can boast of their creation. The home is located off the coast of the Canadian Peninsula of Vancouver.

How it all began
Spouses, being young, dreamed of their own housing, children, a successful career. Katherine worked as a dancer, Wayne was a sculptor. The couple hoped that very soon their dreams would come true.
But years passed, and the spouses could not acquire their housing. Then they came up with a brilliant idea - to build a house on the water.

The couple decided not to lose time, and immediately set to work. They moved out of town, where they found materials for construction.
Every year the house became more and more. Interesting interior items appeared in it, which at first were given out by strangers. The couple was ready to accept any help, because there was still a lot of work.
Cozy corner
For 25 years, the couple were able to build a dream house. They called it "Freedom Cove." Wayne is proud to have done everything himself. And for work, he used only a saw and a hammer. He did not need power tools.
The bay is an island on the water. There is everything you need for life:

- workshop;
- garden;
- gallery;
- utility rooms;
- dance floor.
The housing is 12 platforms that are interconnected. The weight of the building is approximately 500 tons.

How to live in a house on the water
The bay is an example of environmentally friendly life. The owners managed to establish a waste processing system, they grow food on the site. Water is taken from a waterfall in summer, and from rainfall in winter. Electricity is also available, it is provided by solar panels. Spouses have been living in the bay for many years, there they were able to raise two children.
What do the owners of the house do
It turns out that even on the island there is something to do. Husband and wife make original souvenirs that can be purchased in stores, write books and music, do business and do not forget about creativity.
The owners of the house are hospitable people. In the summer they invite tourists. Guests can enjoy the stunning atmosphere and relax from the bustle of the city.
