Materials required for insulation
Consider the main list of materials that are used for these purposes:
- sawdust or straw (a method tested for centuries by our ancestors);
- expanded clay - bulk material, quite easy to use;
- mineral wool - quite a long time and successfully used material, however, it requires caution when laying (you need to work with it with gloves, and a face mask should be worn);
- polystyrene is another convenient material in operation, it not only does not allow heat to pass through, but also does not cause any trouble during operation.
And this is not a complete list, but you can continue for a long time.
The best way to warm the ceiling
The best and best way to warm the ceiling in country houses would be if you start it from the attic. This method will not require reducing the space of the interior.
And for the process to be most effective, you can use the most versatile materials on the market. Consider an example of one of these - polystyrene.
The advantages of polystyrene and the stages of working with it
Polyfoam is a very popular material. It is convenient in work, for cutting plates to the desired size, you can use only a knife from tools, as well as the so-called bulk foam.
Here are the basic steps to warm this material:
- we cover the outer part of the ceiling with a glassine;
- cut the glassine into parts so that it lies well between the beams;
- five centimeters of material should be left near the beams for subsequent fastening with the help of rails to the ends;
- with the help of a knife, we cut the plates and stack them on beams;
- when gaps appear, we eliminate them using mounting foam;
- We cover the ceiling with a second layer of glassine.
If the winters in your area are cold enough, then polystyrene alone may not be enough. In this case, you can use other materials, or put several layers of mineral wool on the foam layer.
